Competitive Advantages

Neurokin’s drug candidates leapfrog competition because:

    - They are active through a new mechanism of action never tested into the clinic for CNS indications. Most of tested drug     candidates drugs were active on receptors only (glutamate receptors, ..) but not on the complex transduction pathways .
    - They are selective for the relevant CD kinases.
    - They target cooperative pathways for neuroprotection with their anti-apoptotic, anti-excitotoxic and anti inflammatory properties.
    - They have a larger therapeutic window than thrombolysis because of the mechanisms targeted.
    - They are drug like lipophilic small molecules with close analogs being tested in clinical phase 2 in other therapeutic domains minimizing therefore the risk in development

Stroke treatment is rapidly evolving and becomes attractive with:
    - The arrival of the first and unique treatment for the acute phase of ischemic stroke: thrombolysis.
    - The development of neurovascular units in all developed countries for a better management of patients.
    - The development of MRI and angioscanner (evaluation of penumbra) for a better selection of patients (surrogate markers) in clinical phase II trials.
    - No neuroprotective drugs has ever been clinically tested using this new opportunity (surrogate marker). Neurokin’s molecules address a much larger population of patients than thrombolysis because of the possibility to administer the drug in absence of CT or MRI scan and of the larger therapeutic window.
