Adult ADHD Evaluation & Treatment
Neurodiversity-Affirming Care Designed for Real Life
Many adults live for years knowing something feels off. The struggle with focus, the constant overwhelm, the emotional dysregulation, the burnout that never quite lifts.
You've built systems, white-knuckled your way through, maybe even succeeded by external measures. But it costs you. And you've started to wonder if ADHD might be part of the picture.
At Neurokin, we provide thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming ADHD evaluation and treatment for adults. Our approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in clinical expertise.
We take your lived experience seriously. We look at patterns over time, not just symptoms on a checklist. And we build a care plan that actually fits your life.
ADHD is not a character flaw. It is not a lack of effort or discipline or motivation. It is a different way of processing the world. And it deserves to be understood, not dismissed.
ADHD Care for Adults Who Want Clarity, Not Assumptions
Neurokin works with adults who are done guessing and ready for real answers. You might be a good fit if you are:
An adult exploring ADHD later in life, after years of managing without knowing why things felt harder for you
A professional experiencing burnout, chronic overwhelm, or stress that never seems to resolve
Someone who has been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told you're "too successful" to have ADHD
A patient looking for private, discreet, self-pay care without insurance involvement
A neurodivergent individual who wants care that respects how your brain actually works
We also work with high-masking adults, women and AFAB individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, and BIPOC patients who have historically been underdiagnosed or overlooked in traditional settings.
If traditional healthcare has felt rushed, invalidating, or incomplete, this is different.
Collaborative, Comprehensive, Human ADHD Evaluation
ADHD evaluation at Neurokin is not a one-size-fits-all process. It is a collaborative, patient-centered assessment designed to understand your full cognitive and emotional landscape.
We start by listening. We want to understand how ADHD (or suspected ADHD) shows up in your actual life: at work, in relationships, in daily routines, in the gap between what you intend to do and what you can actually execute.
We use diagnostic tools to support clinical judgment and your lived experience, not to replace them. A test score is one data point. Your story is the full picture.
Through the app/portal, you can:
Detailed clinical interviews and developmental history
Neurodiversity-affirming assessment tools
Objective ADHD testing using QbCheck (when appropriate)
Cognitive and executive function assessment using Creyos (when appropriate)
Contextual review of how symptoms affect work, relationships, and daily functioning
Strengths-based interpretation of coping strategies and adaptive skills you've already built
Personalized Treatment That Evolves With You
When ADHD is diagnosed, we work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan aligned with your goals, values, and how your brain actually operates.
There is no single "right" ADHD treatment. Some people benefit from medication. Some do not. Many benefit from a combination of approaches that shift over time as life circumstances change.
We focus on what works for you. That means being honest about trade-offs, adjusting when something is not landing, and building a plan you can actually sustain.
Through the app/portal, you can:
Medication management (when clinically appropriate and in states where we prescribe)
Non-medication strategies and supports
Executive function tools, routines, and environmental design
Ongoing care management and follow-up
Strengths Matter as Much as Symptoms
At Neurokin, ADHD care is rooted in affirming neurodiversity, not correcting it.
We know that ADHD brains often come with real strengths: creativity, pattern recognition, hyperfocus, spontaneity, the ability to thrive under pressure.
These traits coexist with challenges like distractibility, time blindness, emotional intensity, and difficulty with follow-through.
Our job is to help you understand both. We build care around:
Identifying strengths alongside challenges
Supporting autonomy and self-understanding
Reducing shame around diagnosis
Building sustainable strategies for daily life that work with your brain, not against it
You are not broken. You are not lazy. You do not need to be fixed. You need support that actually fits.

ADHD Evaluation and Care Across Licensed States
Neurokin provides ADHD evaluation and care for patients in New Jersey and New York, including NYC.
We are also licensed to provide ADHD evaluation, diagnosis, and care planning in Washington DC, Georgia, Florida, and California. In these states, we can complete a full evaluation and build a treatment plan.
Prescribing is not available in all locations, so patients in non-prescribing states may work with a local provider to fill prescriptions based on our recommendations.
In NJ and NY, Karina is DEA-credentialed and can provide full-scope ADHD care, including medication management.
Care That Does Not Stop After Diagnosis
A diagnosis is not the finish line. For many adults, it is the beginning of a longer process: understanding how ADHD has shaped your life, building new systems, and finding support that lasts.
Neurokin uses a secure patient portal and mobile app to make ongoing care easier to manage.
Through the app, you can:
Complete questionnaires and assessments at your own pace
Schedule and manage appointments without phone calls
Message your care team directly
Access records, recommendations, and next steps in one place
We built these tools with neurodivergent brains in mind. Fewer systems to track. Clearer next steps. Reminders that actually help.

Your Questions About Adult ADHD Evaluation & Treatment, Answered
What is included in an ADHD evaluation for adults?
An ADHD evaluation at Neurokin includes detailed clinical interviews, developmental history review, neurodiversity-affirming assessment tools, and objective testing (QbCheck, Creyos) when appropriate. We also review how ADHD affects your work, relationships, and daily life. The goal is to understand your full cognitive and emotional landscape, not just check boxes on a symptom list.
How long does an ADHD evaluation take?
A comprehensive ADHD evaluation typically involves two to three appointments, depending on the complexity of your presentation. Initial appointments are longer to allow for thorough clinical interviews and history review. We prioritize depth over speed. Follow-up appointments may be scheduled to review testing results or discuss treatment planning.
What is objective ADHD testing?
Objective ADHD testing refers to standardized, evidence-based assessments that measure attention, impulse control, and executive function through computerized tasks or structured protocols. These tests provide quantifiable data about ADHD-related cognitive patterns. Objective testing is not a diagnosis by itself. It is one data point within a broader evaluation process.
Do I need QbCheck or Creyos testing?
Not always. QbCheck and Creyos are tools that can help clarify diagnosis when symptoms are complex or when additional data would be useful. We use them strategically, not routinely for every patient. During your evaluation, we will discuss whether objective testing makes sense for your situation.
Can adults really be diagnosed with ADHD?
Yes. Adult ADHD diagnosis is clinically valid and increasingly common. Many adults are diagnosed later in life after years of masking, compensating, or being told their struggles were something else. Recognizing ADHD in adulthood can provide important validation and open the door to support that actually helps.
What is neurodiversity-affirming ADHD care?
Neurodiversity-affirming ADHD care respects ADHD as a natural form of neurodiversity rather than a disorder to be "fixed." It focuses on self-understanding, identifying strengths alongside challenges, and building support aligned with how your brain actually works. The goal is clarity and practical help, not shame or erasure of identity.
Is ADHD treatment only medication?
No. ADHD treatment planning may include medication management when clinically appropriate, but also behavioral strategies, organizational systems, executive function tools, and lifestyle modifications. At Neurokin, we take a comprehensive, personalized approach to treatment. Medication is one option, not the only option.
What is executive function and how does ADHD affect it?
Executive function refers to the mental processes that help you plan, organize, prioritize, manage time, regulate emotions, and complete tasks. ADHD affects executive function, making these processes more effortful and inconsistent. This can show up as difficulty with time management, task initiation, organization, prioritization, and emotional regulation. Understanding your executive function challenges is key to building support that actually works.
What happens after my ADHD evaluation?
After your evaluation, you will receive a comprehensive diagnostic summary and a collaborative feedback session to discuss findings and what they mean for you. From there, you can decide what support fits your needs: ongoing care at Neurokin, referrals to other providers, medication management (where available), or simply having clarity and language for what you have been experiencing.
How much does ADHD evaluation and treatment cost?
Neurokin operates on a private-pay model. Costs vary based on the complexity of your evaluation and the follow-up care you choose. For detailed pricing, visit our Pricing & Access page.
