Transparent Pricing for Adult ADHD & Autism Evaluations

An Investment in Clarity, Unhurried Care, and Self-Understanding

At Neurokin, we operate as a specialized, private-pay practice focused exclusively on diagnostic evaluations for neurodivergent adults.

We do not accept insurance. We intentionally chose this model to protect the depth and quality of your care.

Traditional insurance-driven models often force providers into rushed, 15-minute "conveyor belt" appointments and dictate which tests can be ordered.

By operating as a self-pay clinic, we ensure your evaluation is guided entirely by clinical best practices, evidence-based tools, and the time required to truly understand your lived experience.

The Neurokin Evaluation Model

Insurance, Superbills, and Payment Options

Out-of-Network Reimbursement

While all services are self-pay at the time of booking, your care may still be partially covered. If you have "Out-of-Network" (OON) benefits through a PPO health insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement.

Upon request, Neurokin provides a detailed Superbill (an itemized receipt containing the necessary medical and diagnostic ICD-10 codes) which you can submit directly to your insurance provider.

Please note: Reimbursement rates depend entirely on your specific insurance policy and are not guaranteed by Neurokin.

FSA & HSA Accounts

We accept payments made via Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA), allowing you to use pre-tax dollars for your diagnostic care.

Cancellation & Deposit Policy

Because our comprehensive evaluations require reserving multiple hours of dedicated clinical time that cannot easily be filled on short notice, we require a deposit to secure your booking.

Booking Deposit

A $150 deposit is required for all new patient bookings. This is directly applied to the cost of your first visit.

48-Hour Notice

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice for a full refund of your deposit.

Late Cancellations

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment, or missed appointments (no-shows), are non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Why is private-pay care more expensive upfront?

Private-pay care reflects an investment in time and clinical depth. Insurance companies often limit mental health intakes to 45 minutes. At Neurokin, our evaluations span 3 to 4 hours of direct 1-on-1 time, plus additional hours spent offline analyzing your cognitive data and writing your formal diagnostic report. This ensures unparalleled accuracy and prevents the misdiagnoses common in rushed medical settings.

  • Are there hidden fees?

No. Transparency is a core value at Neurokin. The fees listed above represent the exact cost per stage. Whether or not you need the Neurocognitive Assessment (Stage 2) will be discussed and agreed upon during your initial Diagnostic Interview so you are always in control of your care costs.

  • Will I receive formal documentation for school or work?

Yes. Following your Diagnostic Review (Stage 3), you will receive a comprehensive, formal diagnostic report. This document can be used to seek workplace accommodations (ADA), university support, or to coordinate care with your primary physician or therapist.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

While we do not offer in-house financing, the cost of the evaluation is broken up and billed per stage/visit, rather than requiring the full $1,125 or $1,500 upfront. You only pay for the specific session you are attending that day.

  • How long does the evaluation process take from start to finish?

Depending on scheduling availability and your personal pace, the three stages of the evaluation are typically completed over the course of 3 to 4 weeks.
