Why it helps

Why we use an objective test

Checklists ask how you feel. QbCheck shows how you do on a real task.

It adds hard data to what you tell us.

It measures movement, not just focus.

It compares your results to adults your age and sex.

It gives a second view when your history is hard to read.

It can be repeated later to check how treatment is working.

It's quick, about 20 minutes.

QbCheck is one part of your evaluation, never the only part.

What it measures

Three things ADHD affects

During the test, you watch shapes on a screen and press the space bar when you see a target. Your laptop's webcam tracks small movements of your head. No pictures or video are saved.

What it can't do

  • Diagnose ADHD on its own
  • Replace a full clinical interview
  • Rule out other conditions
  • Show how ADHD affects your daily life

What it measures

  • Attention: how well you stay on task
  • Activity: how much you move while you work
  • Impulse control: how often you respond too fast
  • Your results next to adults your age and sex
  • A clear report we go over with you

How it works

Your QbCheck test, step by step

  1. We set up your test
  2. If QbCheck fits your evaluation, we send you a secure link, or you take it in our Westfield office. At home, you need a laptop or Mac with a webcam. Phones and tablets don't work.
  3. You take the test
  4. Find a quiet room. The test takes about 20 minutes, and clear instructions walk you through it.
  5. We go over your results
  6. We read your results together with your history and rating scales. Then we explain what they mean in plain language.

Good to know: QbCheck is included in your evaluation when we use it. There's no extra charge.
