Questions
Migraine care in New Jersey: your questions
Don't see your question? Call (908) 215-2331 or send us your question.
What is chronic migraine?
Chronic migraine means headaches on 15 or more days a month for more than three months, with migraine features on at least 8 of those days.
Is Botox approved for migraine?
Yes. Botox is FDA-approved to help prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine. It is not approved for people with fewer than 15 headache days a month.
What happens during a Botox treatment?
We give a series of small injections in the forehead, temples, back of the head, neck, and shoulders. The visit is quick, and most people go back to their day right after.
How often do I need Botox?
Usually every 12 weeks. It can take a couple of treatments to see the full effect.
Can migraine care be done by video?
Botox treatments happen in person at our Westfield office. Ask us whether a follow-up visit can be done by video.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly with us.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring a list of the medicines you have tried, any past imaging or reports, and a headache diary if you have one.
Do you treat headaches that aren’t migraine?
Yes. We evaluate chronic headaches and help find the cause. If you need tests or care from another specialist, we will tell you.
When should I go to the ER for a headache?
Go now for a sudden, severe headache, or a headache with fever, stiff neck, confusion, weakness, numbness, trouble speaking, or vision loss.
How much does migraine care cost?
See our pricing page for current visit prices, or call us to talk about the cost of Botox treatment.
