Why adults in California book an AuDHD evaluation

You don't need to be sure. These are common reasons adults reach out.

You have an ADHD diagnosis, but it doesn't explain everything.

You have an autism diagnosis, and wonder about ADHD.

You feel pulled between needing routine and craving new things.

You keep hitting burnout, even with treatment.

You've had trouble finding someone who looks at ADHD and autism together.

Your doctor in California wants a specialist's view before changing your care.

We see adults 18 and older. We don't evaluate children or teens.

Questions

AuDHD in California: your questions

Don't see your question? Call (908) 215-2331 or send us your question.

  • What is AuDHD?

AuDHD is a word many people use when they are both autistic and ADHD. It isn’t a separate diagnosis. It means you meet the criteria for both.

  • Is the whole evaluation by video?

Yes. All three visits are by video. You need to be in California at the time of each visit.

  • I already have one diagnosis. Do I need the full evaluation?

Not always. Bring your records, and we will talk about what makes sense. Sometimes we can focus on the condition that hasn’t been looked at yet.

  • Can you prescribe medicine in California?

Not yet. Right now, we prescribe in New Jersey and New York. In California, your primary care doctor or a local specialist can prescribe, using our written care plan.

  • What if I’m only ADHD, or only autistic?

That is still a clear answer. We will explain what we found and build your plan around it.

  • What time zone are visits in?

Visits are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern time. That's 6 AM to 2 PM in California.

  • Can my California doctor use your care plan?

Yes. Your care plan is written so other clinicians can use it. With your permission, we can share it with your primary care doctor or local specialist.

  • Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with us.

  • Do you take insurance?

No, we don’t bill insurance. After each visit, we give you a superbill to send to your insurer. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, you may get some money back. HSA and FSA cards work too.

  • How much does an AuDHD evaluation cost?

You pay one visit at a time, on the day of each visit. The price is the same in every state we serve. See our pricing page for current prices.
